Training
How hard is it to learn how to shoot?
It is not difficult at all. Our staff are on hand to help take you through all of the basic functions of a firearm, how to load, unload, and store it, and how to shoot safely and accurately. Our student to instructor ratios are kept small so that we can ensure that we maintain the connection with the students needs and help them progress at their speed of comfortability. Check out our Handgun 101 course HERE for more information.
Do I have to take one of the classes to learn how to shoot?
While we strongly urge everyone to learn the valuable life skill of handling and shooting firearms safely in a class environment where you can develop true understanding, we do offer other alternatives. If you’re interested in learning in that type of environment please check out our Handgun 101 course HERE.
For those who want to have the experience of shooting a gun but need assistance in doing so safely, we offer Guided Experiences where our Trainers and Range Safety personnel will help you load and shoot safely on our range with instruction on how to’s and best practices.
We offer firearm rentals and ammunition for purchase to allow customers to try before they buy and learn valuable life skills in the safest, most approachable environment we can create.
Where do I start?
If you have never handled a firearm before we recommend that you start with either a Guided Experience or our Handgun 101 course.
For those who also have a desire to get their Concealed Carry permit for the state of Florida we would recommend our Intro to Concealed Carry course where you will learn to shoot and also cover the basics of carrying a concealed firearm.
Who are the instructors?
We have a deep roster of instructors that come from a variety of backgrounds. We have military veterans, current and former law enforcement officers, competitive shooters, and professional educators who all continue to seek out continuing education from other trainers around the industry.
We also have a strong relationship with Sig Sauer Academy and periodically host their instructors to teach courses at our facility.
What do you teach?
Our goal here is to develop firearms competency and safety for the average American. We pride ourselves on arming and training our neighbors, who come from all walks of life, to defend themselves and their families. Our curriculum focuses on developing proficiency in various weapon systems with the goal of ultimately achieving a high degree of practical accuracy while moving and/or utilizing barricades.
We don’t focus on teaching tactics, instead focusing on teaching different techniques for everyday Americans to safely, efficiently, and effectively use their firearms regardless of the application or environment they find themselves in. We hope that ultimately those we train will progress beyond our curriculum and, if they desire to, continue their development by seeking out other mentors and educators who can continue to expand their skill sets and deepen their understanding.
Do you have more advanced courses?
We have a straightforward progression that is designed for the average American to go from having never handled a firearm before to shooting and moving with proficiency.
Our courses are divided by weapon system (Handgun and Rifle/Carbine), environment (Concealed Carry and Outside the Waistband/Duty Carry), and level of difficulty (101, 102, 103, & 104).
Do you offer private training?
Yes! All of our instructors are employees of Frogbones Family Shooting Center, which allows us to ensure the continuity of experience between one instructor and another. That being said we understand that we all have different learning styles.
Through private training you’re able to get one on one instruction with the instructor who works best for you. Take a look at our Private Training page HERE to book your next session.
